First-day bag
What to pack for the first day: documents, chargers, medicines, clothing and household essentials.
Pack it separately and keep it easy to find on arrival.
- Documents, keys, phone, charger and necessary medicines.
- Spare clothes, a towel and toiletries.
- Water, a simple snack and basic tableware.
- Bedding and everything needed for sleep.
- Toilet paper, soap, tissues and rubbish bags.
- Scissors, packing tape and a small toolkit.
- Separate essentials for children and pets moving with you.
Label it “First day”. Do not put it in the middle of the main load.
Divide essentials into three groups
Keep with you: documents, keys, valuables and necessary medicines. On arrival: water, chargers, soap and towels. For the first night: bedding, clothing and sleep essentials.
Do not forget access
Know where the keys are, how to enter the building and whom to call if there is a problem. Save important numbers so they are available offline.
What to unpack first
Clear walkways and a sleeping area. Then unpack bathroom and kitchen essentials. Open other boxes gradually; room labels help you avoid searching through everything.
